Ripbor kale produces upright plants with tender, lightly savoyed green leaves. Its relatively mild flavour makes young leaves suitable for salads, while mature leaves hold their texture well in soups, steaming and sautés.

The upright growth habit makes harvesting straightforward and helps keep leaves away from the soil. Kale performs best in fertile, compost-rich ground with steady moisture and develops good flavour under cool growing conditions.
